Game Overdose: Video Game Awards (w/ Comments)
Hi all! God it feels like forever since I did one of these…
I apologise for the extreme levels of silence. A near-full-time job, coursework deadlines (of which I still have one in for… tomorrow, procrastination ahoy!) and general life stuff has kept me away the last few weeks, though I hope to remedy that come the new year!
Now, as you may or may not be aware, Spike.Tv does a yearly Video Game Awards, celebrating the best games in various fields at various times. It’s probably about as close as you’re going to get to seeing Video Game oscars. I figured seeing as it (hopefully) wouldn’t take too much time I’d list them all and make comments. These aren’t really meant to be serious, I’m going to try to entertain as much as inform, but it should be a touch interesting…
Game Overdose: Cut Cocktail: Skyrim, Bastion and Uncharted 3 (revisited)
Hi all, this week I’m going to give an outline of the recently released Skyrim, the XBLA hit Bastion (ported a little while ago to PC) and some closing thoughts on Uncharted 3.
Game Overdose: Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception
So, here we have it. The third installment in the critically acclaimed Uncharted Series. Allow me to don my Indiana Jones Fedoratm and take you not just into the most recent installment, but also into the past of the series.
Game Overdose: Infamous: Festival of Blood (Hallowe’en Special…ish)
Ah, welcome, children of the night, into a world of mystery and intrigue. Of fantastic powers and eldritch secrets, and of that sketchy line between faith, fantasy and reality. And also of vampires, or nearly any other “horror” creature being crowbarred into a game series.
Game Overdose: Fallout 3 vs. Fallout: New Vegas DLC face-off PART 2
Apologies for the lateness of this everyone, life got in the way and I got a little bit discouraged by being messed around a bit, but I’m back to finish off what I started, an overall comparison between Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas’s DLC.
Game Overdose: Fallout 3 vs. Fallout: New Vegas DLC face-off.
Given the obnoxiously hot weather out there, the fact that I’m still poor (soon to be addressed, hopefully!) and the fact that the reportedly final DLC came out recently, I’ve decided to do a Fallout 3 vs Fallout: New Vegas comparison.
What’s a better way to enjoy unseasonable sun than sat inside wandering through a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland? DOING IT AGAIN!
Game Overdose 06: Cut Cocktail – How I’d set up the sequel…
This week is spoiler-tastic. Try to stay away from this article unless you’ve played Infamous, Deus Ex: Human Revolution (and most of the deus ex series) to conclusion, or if you don’t care about having their plots spoiled! I’m just going to put across how I’d continue their plots if it was up to me, and some of the explanation as to how.
Game Overdose 05: Cut Cocktail (Alice: Madness Returns, Infamous 2)
So part of the problem for loving video games is the cost.A bigger problem is the time it tends to take to complete one. Couple this with me wanting to keep things fairly topical (i.e “News”) and then take into consideration that I have no money, which means that I have no time as I’m spending every spare minute looking for some tiny scraping of a job.
My point is really that the only game released recently that I’ve had the oppurtunity to play fully has been Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and as these articles are meant to be “in depth analysis” of games the actual completion of the game takes a lot of time… So I figured I’d do a quick “cocktail” of stuff. Nothing that would constitute a true article, but one that could be either a quick synopsis or even a basic skeletal structure for a future one… So I’m going to take a look at Alice: Madness Returns, Infamous 2 this week, and there might be another one of these for next week. I’ll try to find something more interesting to talk about soon!

Game Overdose: 4 Missteps of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Howdy all, I was recently semi-commissioned to do an article but the company in question pulled out before it got published, as such I’ve instead decided to share it with you. Yes, it’s another Deus Ex Human revolution one, but it’s far more in-depth than my last one. This is not a review, it’s a close analysis, and while I’ve tried to keep plot points out of the equation… well, there might be some semi-spoilers, so you’ve been warned!
