Tonight seems calm – stay safe!
Evening all. Personal note from Gaz the editor – thanks to everyone involved in the liveblog, particularly Xenia Coudrille and Ricky Compton, plus everyone else who helped us by tweeting updates, posting pictures and generally being supportive. We’re glad we could be of service to everyone out there in London and beyond.
Some interesting little snippets from the site stats:
- 1 MILLION pageviews between midnight yesterday and midnight today.
- 1.7m pageviews over the last three days.
We’re going to take a night off: our sources are reporting heavy police presence all around London and it seems unlikely that anything will kick off. If we do start receiving reports of rioters and looters we will resume liveblogging and posting updates immediately. We’ll keep a weather eye on our Facebook page in case anybody’s worried about their local area, and updates from that will continue to be Tweeted out to you all.
As before, we really really appreciate the beer donations – if you feel like showing your appreciation for everything we’ve done over the last 3 days (bearing in mind we’re all working unpaid) then we’d be most grateful.
